SEX ed..huh?

We are starting a series called "SexRated". I have been preparing and
studying a number of different aspects of teenage sex. I found a study
that measured the effectiveness of sex education. The study states that
"students (who have) formal sex education are less likely to have sex
before
the age of 15. Boys are 71% less likely, and girls are 59% less
likely."

I think this is interesting from the perspective that talking about sex
can actually make teenagers less likely to have sex! So talking about
it in the church and school really does help a lot

in that.

  • Your doing something outside of there normal job
  • You get to see them outside of the norm
  • Its fun

What I am reading

I picked up this this book about 2 weeks ago it about taking risk. So far what i have gotten out of it is that a number of times we worry about things that don't even matter. He has already talked about some different surgeries that people didn't make it and he know from the beginning that was a small chance. We have to understand that taking risk is tough. I would encourage you to pick up a copy!!

ARE YOU TAKING ANY RISK IN LIFE?

Love God First

37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' Matt 22:37-39

God died on the cross for us, rose from the dead and he gives us eternal life but its hard for us to love God first. Loving God is hard and it takes work daily but when you chose to love him first big things always happen. Make him first in everything!

Is God First in your life or fictional?

love your neighors

37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' Matt 22:37-39

Why is loving your neighbor so tough? It crazy how the bible talks so much about it or is it. I don't think. I think the reason why the bible talks about it so much is because he knew that it would be hard to do. We are have to continue to love others even when it hard. Jesus did it and he wants us to do the same!!

Are you loving or losing?

I went and saw the bucket list tonight and it's a great movie!! It has morgan freeman and Jack Nicholson and the whole concept is to make a list of thing that you want to do, experience and see before you kick the bucket over. This is the first movie that i cried in a long time. I think that it a must see! These two men share the last few months together.

What would you do it you knew how much time that you had?

A lunch with a author "David Murrow"

I had lunch with David Murrow the author of "Why men hate going to church?"
That was a great time!! We talk to him about a number of different things about men.
In the book it says that 90% of men leave the church at the age of 20 but that is more like 75% he corrected.
He spoke alot about what we need to do as a church to make it more male friendly. One interesting thing that he says the book is that men pay attention for 6-7 minutes at a time.
Its a great read i think that you should pick it up!!!
